This year was a bad year for kites. Four years of fighting have taken their toll on the economy of Balata refugee camp in Nablus, and have claimed many lives. I came to the camp expecting to see a repeat of last summer's kite flying craze. This year I found the skyies empty and army jeeps in the streets. I made friends with the kids and we decided to organise a kite flying competition.
