Fenbrook medium security prison in Ontario is the largest call center in Canada's penal system. Inmates phone the US to do market research for some of America's biggest organisations. The inmates, most of whom are serving at least 5 years, enjoy the work. Because of this rare chance for contact with the outside world, the call center uses some unusual security methods.

There are no phones on desks - all calls are dialled by computer, to prevent prisoners using phones for personal calls. Inmate rollcalls are taken throughout the day. Prisoners work evenings and weekends, receiving around CAN$2 per hour. Making birdfeeders is better paid, but not so much fun.
